Collection: Braided Batts

Braided Batts are OOAK (occasionally repeatable) blends made from a few or many different fibers on a drum carder. They are then carefully pulled from the drum through a diz to make a long length of combed fibers that are very similar to combed top or roving. They are then braided to stay protected while waiting to be spun or felted.  Sometimes they are intentionally blended in an A-B-C-B-A order so they can easily be spun from end to end and plied back on themselves to maintain the visible colorway or slow gradient. Some are blended in random order so that the resulting hand spun yarn will be equally random and have no pooling. These are my absolute favorite product to make and to spin!!
